Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) form the basis of the contract between THE SILK STUDIO (“THE SILK STUDIO” “we” “us”) and our customers. Please read our Terms carefully before placing an order on thesilkstudio.uk. By visiting, browsing, registering, or placing an order on THE SILK STUDIO, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to these Terms and Conditions in full. If you do not agree with these Terms, please stop using the Site immediately.


You can place your order online. You will receive a confirmation email which details your purchase, the price and your billing and/or shipping address. Please check that the information is correct and contact us immediately if there is an error.

Your confirmation email is an acknowledgement of your order but a legally binding contract is not formed until you receive confirmation that your purchase has been dispatched.

We have the right not to accept an order for any given reason.



We display the colours and images of the items we sell as accurately as we can. However, we cannot guarantee that this is a true reflection of the item you will receive as it can look different on various screens and devices.

We recommend ordering from the same batch due to the natural variations that can arise when dying with natural materials, albeit please note that colour variations can still occur even when ordering from same batch. This is due to the unpredictable nature of dying with natural matter. You may also notice subtle nuances - marbling and pigmentation, especially with larger widths, again as a result of the natural dying process. Each of our ribbons are entirely unique and one of a kind.

Please allow for a small variation to the size ordered due to the handmade nature of the items. Measurements given are approximates. Please contact if you need exact lengths or widths.



The prices are displayed on the site in GBP. The final purchase price will be calculated at checkout when you have entered your shipping location.

We always try to ensure that the prices shown are accurate. If on the rare occasion that there is an error, we will contact you straight away. Please note, we are under no obligation to offer you the item at the incorrect price and will give you the option to cancel and refund you in full if you would prefer not to pay the difference.



Your payment will be processed securely, and the amount will be taken as soon as your order has been placed.


All orders are processed and posted within 1-2 business days from your order date unless otherwise agreed via email in writing prior to your order being placed. All orders are posted by 3:30pm Mon-Fri.

We now ship internationally, please note however that we ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR PAYING CUSTOMS OR TAXES. Please ensure that you account for these when deciding to place your order.

It’s important that the shipping address you provide at the time of ordering is accurate and correct as we cannot be held responsible for parcels which may go missing.

Your delivery should arrive within the timeframe specified in your dispatch email. Please bear in mind, any potential custom delays are outside our control.

If your purchase arrives and it is faulty, please contact us within 48 hours of reciept by emailing hello@thesilkstudio.uk. We will ask you to retain the original packaging as proof of the condition the goods were received in and provide photos.



If for any reason, your purchase is unsuitable you have 14 days from the date you received your order to return it for a refund. This will exclude your initial shipping cost unless your item is deemed faulty.

You must send your order back to us at your own cost. Please make sure your purchase is returned in the original packaging and any ribbons are ravelled onto their spools and are crease free. Items returned that are used or not in their original condition will be subject to a re-stocking fee. We recommend that you use a tracked delivery service and keep hold of the receipt as we can’t be held responsible for returns that go missing and may refuse a refund for orders that are inadequately packaged.

Custom orders are non-returnable. This does not effect your statutory rights.

Your return will be processed within 48 hours of receipt. Refunds can take up to 10 working days to show in your account. If you haven’t received the funds after this time, please contact your payment issuer for assistance.

If you’d like to exchange your purchase for another item, please email us to arrange.


All wording, designs, photography, copyright, trademarks and all other intellectual property remain the property of THE SILK STUDIO. You are only permitted to use such content if authorised by us. We reserve the right to pursue legal proceedings where necessary.

The site is for your own personal use and you agree that you will not use, sell or supply any item(s) purchased from THE SILK STUDIO for your commercial gain.

We reserve the right to use imagery for any form of advertising including web-based promotions, brochures, and competitions if you use #THESILKSTUDIO and @THESILKSTUDIO on your Instagram post.



Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall exclude or limit our liability for personal injury or death caused by our negligence.
